The Future of Flaka...

A life at sea, tens of housands of miles sailed, countless anchorages, friendships and memories. After many beautiful and intense years building Flaka Cruising together, Edith and I have quietly arrived at a point where we begin reflecting on the future.

Over the years we welcomed thousands of wonderful guests from all over the world onboard our ships, creating something that became much more than simply a business.

Flaka has always been deeply personal to us. It was built around real sailing, freedom, simplicity, hospitality and life at sea.

Perhaps there is a younger couple dreaming of this lifestyle.
Perhaps someone looking for a meaningful change in life.
Or perhaps experienced entrepreneurs who feel connected to the sea and would love to continue something authentic and established.

We are not making sudden decisions, and there is no rush. For now, we are simply opening the conversation and are curious to see whether the right people may cross our path for a possible next chapter of Flaka.

We are open to different possibilities, ranging from a gradual transition into the company to a complete continuation of Flaka by the right people.

A Day on Board

Creating Memorable Experiences

• Morning light. You wake to a soft breeze. A swim before breakfast, then coffee, fresh juice, yoghurt, fruit, eggs just the way you like them. The captain shares the day’s plan; you take one more dip or paddle a SUP across glassy water.
• Under sail. We lift the anchor and set canvas toward a quiet cove. The only noise: wind in the sails, water along the hull, clinking of ice in a steward’s tray.
• Lunch in a hidden bay. Seasonal salads, Turkish rice dishes, handmade pastas, and line-caught fish. After lunch: hammocks, books, naps, or snorkeling.
• Golden hour. We moor in a tranquil inlet or a small Greek/Turkish harbour. The grill glows. Mezes appear. Maybe a three-course dinner under violet skies. When the stars blaze, your bed can be made up on deck—fall asleep to the Aegean.
• Families & kids. Extra swim stops, helping raise sails, treasure-hunt walks ashore, SUP races. Crew are patient, playful, and safety-minded. Quiet time? Cabins are cool and calm.

Our Local & Eco Promise

We sail whenever we can and keep our footprint light: solar, black-water systems, careful waste management. We source locally from Bodrum’s fishermen, markets, and small farms (including olive oil from crew families). We employ crew year-round, invest in training (safety, hygiene, service), and run a small Sailing-for-Charity program to share the sea with guests who couldn’t otherwise afford it. Your booking helps make that happen.
